Iraq insurgents plan wave of attacks
Intelligence points to suicide bombings to coincide with draft constitution

By Jim Miklaszewski - Correspondent NBC News
Updated: 7:49 p.m. ET Aug. 19, 2005

WASHINGTON - U.S. and foreign intelligence officials tell NBC News they have credible intelligence that insurgents in Iraq have active plans to launch a massive offensive early next week — timed to coincide with the possible draft of an Iraqi constitution on Monday.

According to the officials, terrorists would launch as many as 20 simultaneous suicide bombings, mostly in Baghdad. The plans also include heavy rocket and mortar attacks against U.S. and Iraqi government offices inside Baghdad’s Green Zone, against the U.S. military at Baghdad International Airport, and at Abu Ghraib prison.

U.S. officials say the offensive was planned for early this week but was put on hold when Iraqis failed to come up with a draft constitution.

At the same time, some Pentagon officials now acknowledge that the two-and-a-half-year insurgent war has turned Iraq into a terrorist training camp.

U.S. intelligence indicates Islamic militants from several African nations — Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Sudan and Somalia — travel through Syria into Iraq, where they get hands-on training in roadside and suicide bombings, assassinations and kidnappings as well as counter-surveillance and counter-intelligence against military targets, constantly changing their tactics to counter American defenses.

“They can change within seven to 10 days,” says the U.S. Marine commandant, Gen. Michael Hagee, “That’s pretty darn good. We’re going against a thinking enemy.”

And Pentagon officials now fear those freshly trained terrorists are taking the deadly lessons they learn in Iraq to other countries. U.S. intelligence indicates many of the militants are returning home or slipping into Europe, where they may join existing terrorist groups or create and train new cells of their own.

That’s exactly the opposite of what the Bush administration had in mind when it invaded Iraq.

“Instead of going in to eliminate Iraq as a source of terrorism, Iraq now has a stronger terrorist presence than it did when Saddam Hussein was in power,” says NBC News terrorism analyst Roger Cressey.

A new army of terrorists now being trained could remain a threat long after the U.S.-led war in Iraq is over.

Wade, has your (presumably) close relationship with Nyquist gone to your head? I notice you seem to consider yourself above answering questions directed at you by members of this forum who have legitimate questions for you regarding some of your posts, notably the ones making dire predictions of attack that indicate to me that you are susceptible to manipulation by our enemies. I listened to your appearance on the radio last week and found myself dismayed that Nyquist did not appear alone on Coast to Coast, judging by your performance.

Now, as to the article that forms the basis of this thread, I fail to see how a report from NBC News (an orgainzation utterly in the dark about the true state of the world, as most media organizations are, but that's beside the point) about impending attacks in an ongoing hot war in Iraq have much to do with the mission of this board, which is centered on exposing and examining the communist plan to take over the world. Of course there will be attacks in Iraq when the constitution (no doubt written in large part by communist agents) is signed next week. There are attacks in Iraq every single day. Aside from the fact that virtually every terrorist act that takes place in every corner of the globe is ultimately the work of the communists, what special significance is there to your new thread?

Would it not be more germaine to our purposes to post this report below?

A Statement about Hitting the Russian and American Interests at the Same Time
By SITE Institute

August 19, 2005

A message from the “Military Shoura Commission, Leader of the Eastern Front, Leader of al-Ansar Mujahideen in Chechnya,” posted to a jihadist forum today, August 19, 2005, claims the beginning of attacks against Russian and American interests, stemming from the alleged aggression of the two parties upon the “dignity of Islam and Muslims in Chechnya, Palestine, Iraqi, Indonesia, Afghanistan, and other Muslim countries.”

The group promises to deliver a “taste of death” during the month of Ramadan, which will be marked by “suicidal operations in every corner of the globe.” The message could not be authenticated.

A full translation of the message is provided to our Intel Service members.

The SITE report deals with Chechnya. We should all be aware that Chechnya is a Russian provocation designed to further the appearance of plausible deniability vis a vis the "terrorist problem". This should prompt some to start thinking about Shamil Basayev, who has been mentioned before as having received $1,000,000 from Russian military or intelligence agents in 1999, presumably to start the very terror war the Russians purport to fight. Now we read that Chechen terrorism is about to be exported to the U.S. starting with the onset of Ramadan. This is where the story is, Wade. Plausible deniability. Linking of fates. Communist agents. Chechen nukes. The Plan is the story, Wade. This story shows us that the Plan proceeds apace.

Stories about Iraq terror offensives, well, we can see those on NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw.

Wade, I don't mean to be too hard on you, but after listening to you on the radio the other night, it occurred to me that you might very well have chosen the date of August 17 by reading a certain thread on this board which first made mention of that date. You built a circumstantial case to justify your belief that that day would be what August 6 and 9 were not, and you gave the appearance in your posts about it that gave the impression that you were privy to information of a higher quality than the rest of us here at the forum. Now it appears you were stabbing in the dark.

You're listed as a researcher at Nyquist's site. That makes you, in a way, his representative. If Nyquist were a lesser mortal, a two-bit conspiracy pamphleteer selling doom to idiots, say, then mediocrity and enigmatic predictions would not be an issue. Your audience would, being idiots, lap it up. And help you recover from such a gaffe. But Nyquist is Nyquist. He is brilliant, but more than that, he is inside the head of the communists, as few others in this world (and some, though not enough on this board) can claim to be. Nyquist's reputation must be defended and enhanced by what you post here or elsewhere. You are his representative. Act like it.

Those pesky "scientists" and "former Soviet KGB" "consultants" must be at it.

There's always risk of dilluting JRN's message into the ether, for sure, but, then again, to open source things a bit is not a bad idea so long as we have a tight and effective system between aspirants and contestants. The "hierarchy" can be of an orbit shift kind.

HL,
While I claim no insight into WarQueen's actions, I am willing to climb out on a limb and bet it might be related to this: http://www.financial.../2005/0819.html

Jeff Nyquist points out that the Iraq "rabbit hole" is only a sideshow in the much larger game of Russia and China. The Iraqi insurgency is growing with the support of Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran and behind the curtain; Russia and China.

In my opinion, America's military which had been rebuilt by Reagan was drastically cut by President GH Bush's euphoria over a "Peace Dividend" and the false "Fall of Communism". Eight years of President Clinton resulted in even more massive cuts. Years of "peacekeeping" and "nation building" has spread US Forces all over the globe. The current Iraq War has placed a major strain on our volunteer forces. The situation in Iraq is apparently being ratcheted up by our adversaries.

My crude and limited understanding of military affairs makes me wish that if America goes to war, really go to war. Destroy our enemies capability to wage war against us using the most brutal and effective means in order to protect OUR men and women. Kill as many of our enemies as necessary. Destroy any infrastructure which would enable them to mount a threat against us. Then, get out. Let our enemies spend their time and treasure rebuilding instead of America's time and treasure. If they rise against us again, go back and do it harder the next time.

Warqueen, If you are pressed for time, even a one sentence explanation in your original post or in response to a forum member's question would help everyone's understanding of why you posted a specific article.

Finally, Someone who has a grasp on how the world really works and how to avoid trouble in such a world ! With an attitute like this, true peace could break out everywhere, for fear of "messing with" the US. One example would be needed in order to establish our credentials, but after that: few or no other problems. Then after the US gets fat, lazy, and stupid again (like we are now), world-wide destruction would follow.
