Imagine Tea Party extremists seizing control of a South Carolina town and the Army being sent in to crush the rebellion. This farcical vision is now part of the discussion in professional military circles.
At issue is an article in the respected Small Wars Journal titled "Full Spectrum Operations in the Homeland: A 'Vision' of the Future." It was written by retired Army Col. Kevin Benson of the Army's University of Foreign Military and Cultural Studies at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and Jennifer Weber, a Civil War expert at the University of Kansas. It posits an "extremist militia motivated by the goals of the 'tea party' movement" seizing control of Darlington, S.C., in 2016, "occupying City Hall, disbanding the city council and placing the mayor under house arrest." The rebels set up checkpoints on Interstate 95 and Interstate 20 looking for illegal aliens. It's a cartoonish and needlessly provocative scenario....... http://www.washingto...il-war-of-2016/

Here's the link to the "Small Wars Journal" article referenced above. It would be a gross understatement to say that this publication is highly influential in the upper levels of military thinking. I really, really don't like the vibes in this article.

Pretty spooky stuff. & They get paid to dream up these scenarios.
Read several comments down on the link to the site by some very insightful individuals who challenged the "hypothetical" scenario the authors postulated upon. It is a discussion board.

From a "For a more perfect Union" to a "more imperfect Union"... wow, how they have sabotaged and "cynicallized" the work of Lincoln.
I think we are being FARC'ed and Red Cocain is true.
All the major drug dealing areas are receiving leftist type preferential treatment in America, and while California is becoming completely anarchic under leftism, the only thing the military lower brass is getting brainwashed with is college type tripe from Marxist documents... and thus places like San Francisco and other damaging activities by left wing Pink and Red Terror sleeper cells are still under the radar.
While you have proto-marxist revolutionary "right wing" looking profiles into drugs such as Biker gangs or NAzi groups, just look at inner cities and colleges, drug business is mainly there. Holywood and music productions such as No Doubt and what not are all heavily leftist and promoting drug pimp bling bling gallore completely freely.
It is amazing the lengths they will go to try to find some extremist agenda amongst the T-party when obviously the antispanking industry of the left promotes neo-nazi type preferencial treatments.

This little snowball seems to be getting bigger. 1960's counter culture attempted to paint the military as baby killers. Now they have pulled another play out of their communist playbook. Instead they are redefining the militaries mission since they are standing down after a dozen years of activity. Training them to quell civilian uprisings, police actions and less coordinated mass direct fire clearing of opposition. Humanism is what this reeks of. That, and also if SJL would please elaborate on: Emasculation of our men, and the downward spiral of commanders. (I value his opinion) This stinks of future door kicking house searches at 3 A.M. in middle America.
Military authority is rendered by promotion of certain images and perceptions of the white male military man.
So, on the one hand they encourage men to go to college to become officers, and these colleges indoctrinate leftist views. Then the libraries manned by MWR civilians where soldiers go to study or take classes are filled with leftist filth promoting socialist agendas. Add the women in the military factor, and you have posters of margarette Sanger and what not. Jag is big on promoting new wording and language in commander's missives and control of rules of engagement, all getting legal training in many parts from leftist law schools. The access to such parallel authorities and higher powers access (muslim chaplains) keep recruiting for leftist thought and intimidating anyone denouncing it.
All counselling for military families is leftist, and offices like the WIC office emphasis leftoid style diets, imo.
What really struck me, though, is when Obama got elected, officers had to discuss the new change of command and motivate the troops. All the speeches at every event such as Memorial Day or what not had to legitimize the mental Marxist profile that Obama is, and the narcissistizing effect on the troops and shaping of forms of pride was attempted. Speeches about Change, Lindon Johnson War on Poverty through the War on Terror or of Contingencies (as this one officer had been corrected by that Jag lawyer), kept multiplying left and right, it was ridiculous.
Most of this stuff is not paid attention to in the military, it's a busy life, but there is a sizable chunk of personnel who are on desk jobs or doing nothing in low priority MOS who basically sit there, do nothing and practice this stuff. It is pretty annoying. Right before I left Don't ask Don't tell was repealed, and one started feeling the corruption pressure. I once had to do some official work at a support unit, and when I was in my class blues I started getting asked out by other dudes, it was unreal and completely unprofessional.
And this is the big problem, the workplace and now the military is not focusing on the work or the business, but more and more distracted by political footballs where people go there just to show off. It's ridiculous and very dangerous, because it gives soldiers an excuse to not focus on killing the enemy and force protection.
