It is difficult to comment on the shape of Obama's policies at this early date. So many things will change between now and the inauguration, and we don't know who Obama is going to appoint and which policies will be adopted in earnest. What we know, so far, is that Obama is going to use Executive Orders to advance policy. That is to say, he is going to use the interpretation of existing laws to set things into motion that he wants to do. I suspect Obama will accelerate U.S. nuclear disarmament to dangerous levels. I suspect his foreign policy will play into Russia and China's hands. There is no sign of this, as yet.

A number of credible predictions can be made about the next administration: first, government revenue is going to fall off dramatically because of the financial crisis. I suspect that it may fall by more than 40 percent in the next 18 months. Things could go very bad, indeed. Many state programs are financed by Washington. If that money dries up, the states will chart their own course. The president will lose influence nationally, and every level of government will be unable to make payroll, pay retirement benefits or continue welfare payments. This suggests increasing discontent within the country as a whole. Worse yet, the Federal Government is headed for bankruptcy and our currency is at risk. If Obama doesn't reverse the course set by Bush, in terms of bailing out various entities, the government could find itself in a state of near collapse -- along with the currency and the economy.

The one thing that seems clear is Obama's desire to increase the national bailout schemes underway. He wants to send large sums to the states and cities in addition to all the other ongoing bailouts. What needs to happen, all the way around, is belt-tightening. Prices must fall to a level at which productivity can recover and the economy can re-establish itself on a proper foundation. This means we have to go through a period of loss and liquidation of assets. Many companies are not profitable must close their doors. Pouring money into such companies is a waste of precious resources. Many states and cities could not balance their budgets in prosperous times, and any bailout teaches them to continue inappropriate expenditures that are unsustainable in hard economic times. Many government services are going to be curtailed. Many government workers must be laid off. If not now, then there will be bigger layoffs later.

By delaying the day of reckoning we merely set ourselves up for harder times down the road. If you listened to Senator Obama during the presidential debates, and during the campaign, you heard him say that the government can fix the economic crisis -- if only we adopt "the correct" measures. This fails to comprehend the fact that government doesn't directly create wealth. It merely fosters a secure environment in which wealth creation is possible on the part of free citizens. The government cannot prevent an economic downturn. Its job is to preserve civil order, property rights, and provide emergency assistance in the event of famine. By staying out of the market, government allows the market to recover. By interfering in the market, government delays recovery and extends the crisis -- putting the currency and national security at risk.

The capitalist system is not utopia. Terrible things can happen within this system. Yet it is the only system that allows widespread prosperity to occur. Whatever the evils of the market, the evils of socialism or government interventionism are greater. As many who lived under the Soviet system understand, a government that dominates the economy necessarily evolves into a police state. This sinister transition, in which economic activity is criminalized, in which the state controls all opportunity, leads to the ultimate corruption (that is, totalitarianism). Whatever can be said against capitalism, it is a wonderland compared with the Soviet system.

I don't believe President-elect Obama understands any of this. He talks of "perfecting" America, and this alarms me. Politics is not about perfection. There is nothing perfectible in human nature or politics. What we have, at best, is a system that mitigates evil through checks and balances. That is the best human society can hope to accomplish politically. And America's great political achievement has been a system of checks and balances that has kept power decentralized while allowing it to be effective for purposes of national defense. There is no better system beyond this. It is Obama's belief that we can "do better" than what we have, and this indicates a lack of political and historical understanding. Every utopian venture in history has ended tragically. The Founding Fathers of our Federal Union were not utopians. They were realists who understood the danger in a government that is either too weak or too powerful, that is too decentralized or too centralized. What they achieved, partly by luck and partly by design, was a balance. Obama's ideas lead away from balance toward utopian aspirations. Once you start down the utopian road you end with a totalitarian system. This is because those who would make the world more perfect want to remove the "checks and balances" to their own power. For they need power, and more power, to bring us their more perfect system.

Perhaps Obama will prove wiser in office than his campaign statements suggest. At this point, we have only his statements to go by.

Nice post Mr. Nyquist. Is this your upcoming article?

I believe his policies are, well, to transition the country in a downhill trend and pass the baton should he not finish by his term(s). To me, he is a man bent on destroying what's left of the U.S.. Like George W. Bush, many underestimate his intelligence. Bush was smeared as stupid in everything he did whilst Obama is thought to be relatively the same in regards to his inexperience. This could lead to a catastrophe that he could very well intentionally generate under this guise of inexperience as I believe he has an "agenda" of his own with the country. He knows his history quite well, therefore he also knows his "plan" will work.

Reading back in history, similar policies were carried out during the FDR times -- policies to which we now know the result and extent. What's more is that the Russians were licking their chops to take advantage of the situation back then. One could only imagine what he will be inviting this time around.

I cannot think of a better quote to apply to the current state of affairs of American society and politics today.

In my humble opinion, Obama knows exactly what he is going to do. His 'public statements' are carefully designed to appeal to the masses and conceal his radical agenda. He plans to follow ultra-liberal dogma to the letter. I believe he also plans to destroy America.

I am more than concerned about what changes President Obama will bring. There seems to be a difference between his public utterances and his private ones - Andrea Mitchell's account of his meeting with President Bush would seem to support this.

He seems to possess all the attributes of a deceiver.

But, I'll give him the benefit of doubt until later.

While action speaks loudest, personnel is policy. With Rahm we are getting "The Chicago Way." The rest look like they are going to be Clintonista retreads and the idiocy that goes with them.

Frankly, the Reps needed to be punished, but the country will be punished with Obama for at least 4 years now. Perhaps the Reps will listen this time and not nominate another Dole/McCain type who thinks it's his turn.

From the looks of things, Obama's misrule will basically finish the country. It's already in the ICU with the crash cart and the Hospitalist laboring frantically to prolong life. Obama and his minions are pretty much idiots that understand nothing and think the Government can tax us rich. They are planning to hijack the next census and rearrange Congress and pretty much make it impossible for anyone with a brain to retake congress. They'll fix it so Uncle Sam will be an open deadbeat, and no one will loan the FedGov anything, and the left's idiocy will lead to panic and economic destruction.

It can get much worse. Compare the situation in 1938 with 1932. It was far worse after the Hoover/FDR rescue measures. Only the holocaust of WW2 got us out. This time the holocaust will destroy us, although it will be in concert with the suicide the US is committing.

I heard the end of a radio i'view this afternoon with a fmr. General in the Air Force. He was saying that a really efficient missle air defense system (the '300 System? I think he said) was about to be installed in Iran. So, he concluded that before it gets operational, and likely, even before Obama gets inaugurated, Israel attacks. Maybe that's why the JRN dream visioned that Pres. Bush was the last President.

Obama will return to "launch on Impact" rules for ICBM launches and will require at least 3/4 of America's nuclear missile subs to be in port.

Also, the F-22 will be grounded, and the defense budget will be cut by at least 25% within the first 100 days.

I was listening to a Don McAlvany report earlier to day (haven't listened to it all yet), and they had Congressman Ron Paul on the show. He stated that even if the federal government cut spending by 40%, that would only take us back to 1997 spending levels. Does anyone even think that in 1997 government spending was reasonable?

Belt-tightening is certainly what is needed. And yet, every day it seems, more money is shoveled out the door to whoever wants to get in line. It's almost like we know the tidal wave is about to hit, so there's no time (and therefore no incentive) to think about the ramifications of our actions. We just have to try to maintain the status quo, no matter what. We can't have people panicking!

Is it a strategic move by Obama and friends to make the population so angry that revolution is seriously considered by a large enough group of Americans to be of concern? Remember, it doesn't take a majority of the people to begin a revolution. I think around 3% of the American colonists actively participated in the break-away from Great Britain. The rest were passive, or were opposed to us becoming independent.

I try to stick to the adage "Never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by ignorance." It's getting harder and harder to do though.

So instead of panic (assuming the bailouts continue, and everyone sees their money being given away recklessly), the people resort to revolt. And out of that chaos, comes .... what?

I truly don't see a middle way through what is coming. It will either be panic followed by economic collapse, or revolt of some kind, followed by I don't know what, or a mixture of both. We are finally at a point, I believe, that the status quo is no longer possible.

And when things get "out of control", watch out for those who promise to "fix everything". And beware especially of the ones who want to fundamentally change the way the world works - whether economically, politically or religiously. This is what concerns me about Obama - he seems to be, from his speeches and past associations, one of them.

"Them, them, them....whatcha gonna do about them??" (With apologies to Rupert Holmes of "The Pina Colada Song" fame.... :) )

I think when real chaos occurs, it matters little what ideology is out there, nothing can stop it until we let the chips fall down.

Now in controled chaos, ideology still goes around and politics abound. If Obama runs away when things go bad, the way Clinton became indecisive or New Orleans cops ran off, it might actually be a good sign. If he stays up and protected with his minions, then he's some kind of agent.

Russia's hold on nukes to this day points to the falsity of its collapse, leaving us to deal with crippled structures of East Europe while they kept theirs or the key healthy ones off limits and our reach. This is Putin's protectionist paranoiac arrogant and unrepentant policy, after all. We'll see how that fairs.

What I see also is that we are learning of communists despite them and their lies. This signifies that any future repent of theirs is going to be unneeded. This means they are approaching disposability. This means moment of war is aproaching. The current media resort to cheap "pornographics" to get Obama elected and the strange false dissidents of theirs who say they see cracks and doubt him (yet voted for him during the election), shows again a superchery of the false dissident and the mole.

I know already of switchers that are of Eastern descent in my area. These, in case of crisis, have positioned themselves to take power or protection within the GOP, like unhelpful prostitutes. Obama's camp might split between black nationalists who will demand a "black santa" promise fulfilled at internet speed and white Democrates and hispanics who will flock dixicrate or KKK again, all this hedged by the present belief that KKK and neo-nazies and conspiracist libertarians are right wingers... The Marxists of his camps will seek to avoid isolation, but to naught, Jewish might be blamed as supporters or spies, depending. Christians will be blamed for everything and false dissidents will flock there for opportunities in interferance activist churches seeking to control and select. Numerology will be of vogue so as a collective feeling isolating itself in stupidity will distrust individual truths.

Obama is so obviously Marxist that I am warry he is the cover for another real Soviet operation of take over through penetration of the right. The Soviets want control over EVERYTHING first, to make sure. FR is taking some of the bait but not all. It's clear Obama has inherited a mess, that of Bill and his own of Acorn, that is for sure, reaping what he sowed, and Bushed fibbed and slyly passed it on instead of cleaning house...

No pearls to swines, no idiot proofing the nation, we must stay vigilant. It remains to be seen as to judge who in the end will remain useful to us and who will not.

The coward is a traitor and a criminal. He cannot fight against his own sins, he needs government to master him, yet he needs our guns because he can't help but satisfy his criminal desires against us. It's a case of anarchy in love with tyranny. They tax us of our moneys and guns for protection, of our nukes more worriedly, they give out our secrets and they believe or like it when enemies promise them free rapine in their own households uncondemned. They hate the mercy hand and prefer euthanasia or suicide bombing to faith and reliance on a source of enlightenment. And we cannot exempt pure folly either, where like a rabid dog, it cannot see fire nor consequences, going ahead without capability of being reasoned.

These are some of the animus I detect of them despite them. From a personal perspective, I believe Obama is weak and stupid. These grand airs of his with his mouth open without him noticing is something I just cannot stand. His being teleprompted and associations with Islam tell me he is a puppet of some sort. He also has a leftist compulsivity to love conartists, gays and interferers while himself loving that role of "control" while having none at all.

He has been propped by the speed of the internet. This indicates that the KGB has quickly leveraged the usage of internet to promote gramscian services in it, such as MySpace, so as to make his "American Idol" cheap campaign make it. This speed is also matched with an unhealthy speed to power, ie. Affirmative Action type title endowment without the respect, work, discipline and wits enforced to match those titles. As a result he has a strong compulsion to slow the rest of us to his mental speed. His persona of the stupid slowing the smart is the hallmark of what makes him trustworthy to the enemy as a puppet, and sin keeps him dulled and hung over, completely possessed.

As things will go down, the powers of the enemy will be compromised by two things:

1. we won't need its help to develop ourselves. A sort of spirit based smuggling will occur that it will not understand. The ring of power secrecy will not hide its bearer. The great eye of sight will not be able to conceive beyond strategy, the region of the design of things vs. what we can accomplish that it cannot figure in terms of purpose of completion as lords learn so as to be learned.

2. Sin will make the enemy stupid and its own efforts in idiot proofing itself doomed. Power, materials, money matter not if you cannot hold them and rely on them without a source of repent.

It's a spiral, as if the revolution was just that, a work of "art", a "masterpiece", and then suicide for the artist, a no more, the "fruit" runs its course, the con is boring. Then again, the enemy is not normal and could truly keep "believing", self flattering, no matter what.

It is necessary as per the scapegoat. Some will indulge and carry the sins, those persecuted will be shielded from all enjoyments of the flesh and power. It's a purification process and so it is chosen, good shall separate from bad. Lions will kill cubs they fear will be threats and will reward seemingly submissive Lionesses with the life of her cubs. The carriers will be dum by design outwardly, but intelligence will lay unexpressed by those, for sake of survival, just as poisonous rhubarb carries nutritious sweet stem centers.

I doubt they actually want a revolution, and if they do, they want their own guys staging it. However, Obama and backers actively are trying to bring the country to the brink of collapse. Let's remember, they have only elected him yet. Obama wants the public to go along with him on his radical changes. This can only be accomplished if the public is meek, compliant, passive and scared into acquiescence due to the prospect of a disastrous future.

We can see the market plummeted again another 400 points today. If the market collapsed, Obama would essentially have carte blanche to do whatever he wanted, institute whatever changes he wanted. If he decided to nationalize industries in the name of "rescuing the economy", people would be so terrified and cowed into silence by Obama's proclamations of apocalyptic predictions that they would do ANYTHING.

Call me crazy, and I hate to harp on the Cloward-Piven strategy, but the financial 'crisis' got Obama elected, and I believe it's about to help him institute his radical changes.

Incidentally, Bush isn't even out of office and there's already a headline on Drudge saying how Democrats are going to investigate him..

On the one hand the current nuclear crisis would recommend a sort of nationalization and mobilization of the nation. On the other hand, the cops Obama offer us to do this job are sinful cultural cowards of the first kind who cannot be trusted to protect their own selves from immorality and enemies, let alone to protect us from their abusing us.

It's like a deceitful spouse who sells children to prostitution rings for appeasement and self satisfaction. It's really a difficult situation.

We must somehow hold on to our confidence and means as individuals while allowing for nationalization of the system. A mandate for obligatory service and firearms carriage should be instituted. I fear, however, that a selection in favor of weak carefuly culturaly selected civil service will be chosen by Obama, one cracking against the population, but not enough against foreign enemies.

Their trick is to interfere with our entries into positions of decision while calling us interferers for holding on to our guns as we are being rejected. Obama is weak. He is a paranoiac interferer by design. He hates criticism because he breaks easily against them and he is compromised as a brazen cowardly criminal in his pro-infanticide views. If he cannot face criticism, he cannot face enemy bullets. It's the culture of new cheesy Leninian lawyers who cannot win cases plaid fairly.

Let us be careful of how the enemy is trying to express things and how it supress ours in its insinuations of us being interferers or provoking us into it.

Right now all bets are off in regard to campaign promises, BO's ideology, and his policy.

The collapse of the US economy is accelerating at breakneck speed. The dollar is set to collapse. How can the President or congress do anything with a currency no longer trusted?

What is happening right now is much bigger than anyone can predict or analyze right now. ALL nations are seeing their banking system and markets deteriorate as well. It is so bad not even gold can advance in price since all the physical is already been bought up. Same for silver coins. Good luck finding any.

The first thing Obama said he would do is sign an EO granting the full freedom of choice. That means he condons the slaughter of the innocents. That ought to move God to removing what little protection America has left.

If allowed, he will remove guns, get rid of U.S. nukes, repatriate the blacks for slavery, promote the gay agenda, create a civilian army, disengage from the Middle East theater, change Homeland Security into something entirely different and allow Rahm Emmanuel to strongarm anyone who won't go along. He has the congress and the media behind him.

One good terrorist attack with wmd will create an environment only survived by knowing God thru prayer.

Great darkness has descended upon this nation and the judgments of God are here.

The only thing left to do is get right with God if you haven't done so. Only He can help this nation.

God Bless.

Allow me to inject a little hope in here. As it took a strong few to institute this great country of ours, so it will be when all around seems dark in our presumed end. The "remnant" may be small, but numbers mean nothing to those who trust in God. Remember the story of Gideon's army? God kept telling him to thin it down more and more before they attacked the Midianites. It was reduced to 300 men. (Reminds me of the movie about the 300 Spartans, except for how they fared in the end.)

With that small number of men, the Midianite army was defeated. Was it the army alone who did this? No. God instructed Gideon to make the army so small, that when victory was achieved only He would get the glory.

These are dark times. But how much brighter the light of Truth shines in darkness, than in midday!

Sin will make the enemy stupid and its own efforts in idiot proofing itself doomed. Power, materials, money matter not if you cannot hold them and rely on them without a source of repent.

SJL has it right. Sometimes God brings evil men to power to show their corruption and the futility of Mankind trying to save Mankind.

Dick Morris was talking about the current pending Senate elections yesterday. These are really the races we have to watch. That abomination Franken is about to steal the election from Coleman in Minnesota. Even the Ted Stevens election is getting close. And the final one is the Saxby/Chambliss one. If Dems win all those, all hell breaks loose.
